DSU traveled to Western Oregon University in Monmouth,
Oregon. It was a dreary rain soaked afternoon.
The Wolves of WOU scored first during their first possession of the
game. The score was 7-0. The DSU offense struggled again early and didn’t
score. WOU scored again with 4 minutes left in the 1st quarter. The
score after the first quarter was 14-0.
DSU scored early in the 2nd quarter but the PAT
was blocked, WOU 14 DSU 6. The DSU defense held WOU through most of the
quarter. DSU scored again but failed to convert the 2 point conversion, WOU 14
DSU 12. With one minute left till halftime WOU intercepted a pass and scored a
touchdown. The score at halftime was 21-12.
The DSU defense held strong through the first 8 minutes of
the third quarter but WOU scored at the 7 minute mark. The score was WOU 28 DSU
12. The DSU offense connected a touchdown pass to Duncan but were unable to get
the 2pt conversion score WOU 28 DSU 18. The offense continued to struggle with
a couple of turnovers that were converted into two touchdowns for WOU. The score after 3 quarters was 42-18.
The 4th quarter began with a DSU touchdown pass
to Duncan but the 2pt conversion again failed and the score was WOU 48 DSU 24.
The DSU defense held WOU and DSU scored again on a 5 yard run and were finally
able to get the 2pt conversion WOU 48 DSU 32. The DSU defense held WOU and gave
up a field goal making the final score WOU 51 DSU 32.
